Great Moment in Black History: Flavor of Love.

It’s Valentine’s Day so what better way to celebrate it than to celebrate the one of the greatest and romantic moments in TV history. This show revolutionized dating by making it less monogamous, which really is how it’s supposed to be until find someone you want to be monogamous with.

Anyway, the Flavor of Love, was one of the first reality shows, that I know about, to ever come out. It was a show where Flavor Flav, the hype man for the rap group Public Enemy, known for their politically charged song “Fight the Power,” was in search for love… Just like every Black man, he was tired of getting done wrong by the woman he would give his heart to. That’s when him, and the people over at VH1 came up with the genius idea to make a show out of his pursuit of love. What better way to find love than to just bring a group of women together, put them in a single house, let them basically run a train on Flav, and give whoever Flav picks to be his new girlfriend $250,000.

Smart move giving them ladies money as an incentive because if we being real Flav is ugly… As hell. Like dude doesn’t even look like a real person if we being honest. He looks like a racist cartoon drawing from the 1800s. Like seriously, look at him.

But I still respect this man for this show. Why mans was a genius. Dude came up with a genius way to sleep with a bunch of women that I’m sure many men wish they would have thought of or wish they could replicate.

The show wasn’t merely just entertainment. It was more than that. It was a gift giver. If it wasn’t for this show we would never got to meet Hoopz or Delishis. And we definitely would have never got reality television Black darling, New York.

How can anyone forget the show that gave us Nicole “Hoopz” Alexander. I mean look at her. She’s more gorgeous than bacon and you can’t see them in the picture, but her feet look amazing. I’m honestly surprised that Flavor Flav never got her pregnant while she was on the show. I would’ve met her on the first day of shooting and she would by pregnant by the end. Condoms and pulling out would be the last two things on my mind.

It’s no wonder that she won season 1 of the show. She beat out New York for Flav’s heart and she won the boners of every guy and the dildos of every dykes (I’m pretty tired so forgive for I know not what I write).

But that wouldn’t be the end of the show tho. They say it’s because it just wasn’t working out but I’m pretty sure it was because they wanted to keep the ratings up. VH1 knew they were on to greatness. They were on the cusp of creating ratchet reality tv.

So season 2 came out.

I remember more of the women from season 2 than I do season 1 because season 2 had Buckee, Buckwild, Nibblez, the girl who pooped herself, and the one, the only, Deelishis.

Deelishis was my middle school crush. She started my love for big booty women. I wouldn’t be the pervert I am today if it wasn’t for her. Deelishis was not only the finest woman of season 2 but she also came out to be the winner. I’m not surprised at all. Basically, reread everything I said about Hoopz but replace her name with Deelishis and that sums up thoughts on how I feel about her.

Also, when I think about Deelishis was low-key the first Instagram model before Instagram models were even a thing. I was following her MySpace like a horny teenager following a porn stars Instagram page.

Anybody that knows me, knows that I don’t date seriously date women with kids but I would father the hell out of her kids if I got to be with Deelishis.

……… I don’t remember season 3 at all. I can’t name a single girl in this picture except for them twins and barely remember them. I think this came out when I finally started maturing and gave up on these type of reality shows. Even classics start to lose their classic appeal after a while. Besides, it’s all about the original Black Ink Crew and Love & Hip Hop: New York now.

“Flavor of Love” really gave us nothing but greatness but the greatest thing it has ever gave us was New York.

I won’t even try to sum up the greatness that is New York. Instead I’m just give y’all this video.

Aight, y’all be blessed.
